This is how I remember London as a child, how I loved the view of the Shell-Mex building when I walked across the old Hungerford Bridge from Waterloo Station to the Library in Whitehall where I worked from 1964. The Shell#Mex building reminded me of a ‘clock on a 30s fireplace.
